CHARITY EVENTS
Would you like Tornado to come along to your event? Have a look here first.
Robot Roadshow 2002
This event built on the reputation of the Robo Rumble from earlier in the year, and was held at the same leisure centre in Worthing. Again it was a well attended event - and we won two trophies!

14/12/02

Oundle Mill 2002
The now annual Roboteers Christmas Party, at Oundle. The poor weather made it harder to run robots, but demos from John Reid's Beta and Dave's Tesla Coil made up for it!

23/11/02

War In The Wolds 2002
This Roaming Robots event was held in aid of Children in Need, and was the first where the robots were the star attraction. Despite the power cuts, it was a good event!

15-17/11/02

Hardwick School 2002
We were special guests at the Hardwick Community Primary School robot/techno event. We proved that a robot built in less than an hour is not going to be any good!

BMIHT Gaydon 2002
The second Roaming Robots event we attended, held at the Interford show, at the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Centre, Gaydon.

11/8/02

INSPIRE June 2002
Our second visit to INSPIRE in Norwich this year. As usual, the event was just a static display, but this time was spread across the whole weekend.

Newark Kit Car Show 2002
The first event for the Roaming Robots team, and it was a real sucess. We are really impressed with their arena, and joined up at the end of the event. Plus the event promoter managed to lay on some extra entertainment...

All Saints School 2002
This school Summer May Fayre was just a static display, until we tried to tow Bryans 101 - and suceeded!

25/5/02

London Expo 2002
A static display event, at the London Expo Sci-Fi show, at ExCeL in London Docklands. As usual, everyone had quite a good laugh!

18-19/5/02

Medway Microbot 2002
This event, centred more around the lighter weight classes, was held in my home town of Rainham!

18/5/02

Robo Rumble 2002
This was the first event held by the Grim Reaper team in Worthing, and despite clashing with the Mechanoids filming it was very well attended.

20/4/02

Raving Robots 2002
This static display event was held at the Bass Museum in Burton on Trent and organised by the Hardvark team.

13/4/02

Robot Rumble 2002
The third Debenham event we have attended was held over three days this year. We were seeded #1 for this event, and won the competition on Sunday.

30/3-1/4/02

INSPIRE March 2002
This event was a lot of fun despite only being a static display. We got to meet lots of fans!

16/3/02

Brighton Model World 2002
This was our first trip to this well established event at the Model World show. There wasn't a proper competition, just some active demonstrations.

15-17/2/02

Dutch Robot Games 2001
This is the first international event we have been to with Tornado. Despite some problems with limited crystal frequencies, everyone who went along had a lot of fun. Don't mention the sprouts!

21-23/12/01

Oundle Mill 2001 B
The second meet at Oundle this year. Tornado suffered a bit of a squeezing at the hands of Kan Opener, and the seeds were sown for what eventually became the Event Safety Document.

24/11/01

"Kent Robot Wars" 2001
The two day "Kent Robot Wars" schools event. Despite the multitude of problems, both with the arena and the organisation, the schools robots did very well and had a good competition.

Alstom 2001
This event was fairly low key, with not that many robots attending. It was held as part of an open day at Alstom Power in Lincoln, where the Stinger team work and Stinger was built.

13/10/01

Robot Fayre 2001
Our visit to the Southfields School event in Kettering. The weather and a lot of our time spent doing technical checks made this event less enjoyable than others we have been to.

29/9/01

Robot Mania 2001
Organised by Ian Watts from the Bigger Brother team at Joe's school, this event in Brighton proved rather sucessful for us - we won it!

22/9/01

Robots@War Arena 2001
This two day event was the first that Dave Jones and his team had organised outside of Wilsons School. It was part of the Kent Car Show at Danson Park in Bexley.

Robots@War 2001
This was the second time we had attended Wilsons Day with Tornado, and marked the end of a full year of combat for us. Again organised by Dave Jones and his team, the event fell during the filming of Extreme at Earls Court.

30/6/01

Robot Rumble 2001
This two day event was again held at Debenham and organised by Eddy and Roy from Prizephita. It was great fun and through the course of the competition we beat Chaos 2 three times!

14-15/4/01

Oundle Mill 2001
This was the second Peterborough meet we attended, this time things went better and we got some good pictures...

Oundle Mill 2000
This event held near Peterborough was more of a social - Tornado had serious controller problems, and we did not run for long.

16/12/01

Robot Rumble 2000
This very well organised event (thanks to Eddy and Roy from the Prizephita team) was held at Debenham, near Stowmarket. This was the last outing for our pneumatic toothpick weapon.

26/11/00

Robots@War 2000
This event, also known as Wilsons Day, was our first ever combat event. It was held at Wilsons School in Croydon and organised by Dave Jones.
